Morning Maternity Session at Mead Botanical Garden | Alejandra & Ian
Early mornings in Florida can be pure magic—especially in the summer, when the sun rises softly and the air is calm just before the heat sets in. For Alejandra and Ian’s maternity session, we chose Mead Botanical Garden in Winter Park, one of the most beautiful and peaceful locations for maternity photography in Central Florida.
I didn’t photograph their engagement session or wedding, but from the moment we met, I felt an instant connection with this sweet couple. Their warmth, excitement, and gentle love for each other made this session flow effortlessly from start to finish.
Capturing Morning Light at Mead Botanical Garden
We scheduled their session early in the morning to avoid Florida’s unpredictable summer showers. It turned out to be the perfect decision—we caught just enough morning golden light filtering through the trees before the temperature climbed and the humidity rolled in.
Mead Botanical Garden offers such a serene variety of scenery: lush greenery, tree-lined paths, soft florals, and pockets of quiet light that make maternity portraits feel dreamlike and intimate. Alejandra looked absolutely radiant, and Ian was right by her side, soaking in every moment as they prepare to welcome their baby.
We wrapped up the session just in time—right before the sun became too strong and the day turned warm and humid. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

Celebrating a New Chapter
Even though this was my first time photographing Alejandra and Ian, it felt like we had known each other much longer. Their joy, connection, and anticipation for their little one translated beautifully into every image.
Sessions like this remind me why I love maternity photography so much—capturing this fleeting season and turning it into something families can treasure forever.
