Haley & Kyle’s Engagement Session at Kraft Azalea Garden

Winter Park, Florida

Several months ago, I had the joy of photographing Haley and Kyle’s engagement session at the always dreamy Kraft Azalea Garden in Winter Park. The soft golden hour light, the quiet breeze moving through the tall cypress trees, and the way these two melted into each other—it all came together so effortlessly. And the best part? I also get to photograph their destination wedding in Cancun in December 2026! I cannot wait.

But what makes their story even more special is how Kraft Azalea became such an important part of their journey.

A Love That Began in the Emergency Department

Haley and Kyle first met in May of 2022 while working as nursing assistants in the emergency department. He was finishing paramedic school, she was about to graduate nursing school, and together they spent countless hours saving lives, learning from one another, and building a friendship rooted in shared purpose and deep respect.

That friendship, of course, turned into something undeniable. They started dating almost immediately and fell into an easy, natural rhythm. They pushed each other through school, celebrated their growth, and even traveled together—discovering new loves, new dislikes, and all the little things in between that make a relationship real.

The Proposal at Kraft Azalea

Two and a half years later, in October 2024, Kyle planned the perfect proposal. After asking Haley’s dad for permission, he told her they were heading to her favorite restaurant, Sixty Vines. But on the way, as golden hour painted the sky, he randomly turned into Kraft Azalea Garden.

Haley knew.

Both of them were nervous, emotional, and excited as they walked through the quiet paths of the park. And right there, surrounded by warm sunlight and peaceful stillness, Kyle proposed. It was intimate, heartfelt, and incredibly special.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect—their best friends were getting married the very next day, and they were both in the bridal party. Kyle wanted them to walk down the aisle engaged, and they did.

A Cancun Wedding Was Always in Their Hearts

Earlier that year, in August, they had traveled to the Dominican Republic and realized something important: they loved the idea of a beach wedding at an all-inclusive resort. They had even decided on it before they were officially engaged!

So now, their dream is becoming reality. Next December, we’ll all be heading to Cancun for the most gorgeous beach celebration.

Their Session

During their engagement session, you could feel everything—how deeply they care for one another, the quiet trust, the shared strength built in emergency rooms and classrooms and long nights studying. Kraft Azalea, the place where Kyle proposed, felt like the perfect backdrop. The golden light wrapped around them just as beautifully as their story.
